previous clerical experience.

Mr. Ng Luk has only been here since the

1st. of this month, he is slow in his work and practically does

nothing but copying.

MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH'S OFFICE.

Head Clerk. Since the resignation of Mr.

Baillie, this post has not been refilled. I attach a list of his

duties.

Mr. Wong Ling Wai, Clerk and Interpreter,

has only been here since the middle of February. Dr. Pearse

reports that he is working and performing his duties satisfacto-

rily.

Mr. S. M. Labay performs clerical duties

and is a useful man in the office as he can interpret both

Chinese and Hindustani.

Mr. Kwok Fuk fo is chiefly an Interpreter

to the Assistant Medical Officer of Health (Dr. Barnett), be

also performs clerical duties, he has been in this Department since 25th. January, 1902, and he typewrites well.

COLONIAL VETERINARY SURGEON.

Mr. da Silva interprets to the Colonial

Veterinary Surgeon and also performs clerical duties, he is a Portuguese, and has had some years' experience in the office.

SURVEYOR.

Mr. Chan Ki Kwong, Interpreter and

Draughtsman. He has been here since 10th. April, 1902, and does

his work satisfactorily.

In addition, there are six clerks attached

to the District Offices, they are chiefly telephone clerks and assist in keeping the books. I attach their names.
